Vendredi était pluvieux

I took a bike ride at around 7am this morning and I made it to the beach just at sunrise. There might have been 10 people on 10 Km of beach- it was perfect. I needed to recharge the camera batteries so I'll have to take that picture another day. Let me tell you though it was pretty amazing. Beach, mountains, palm trees, the sea- pink, red and gold blasted onto a mediteranean blue with flecks of green. I sat in the sand for a while until rain clouds began to approach from the northwest. I took a detour home and passed by the local soccer stadium and the gendarmerie. I rode down the Av du 8 Mai 1945, back to the house and passed lots of well maintained vacation houses and hotels, some minigolf and various tourist-trap looking restaurants.

When i got back to the house i ate a quick breakfast and then took a ride wth my father to the town hall to see about reinstating my citizenship. It turns out it was fairly easy and so I should have a french ID and passport before I leave. Hopefully this will make owning a vacation house here that much easier. After resolving that, we drove to Perpignan to pickup supplies that my father needed to renovate one of his rental apartments. We went to a couple of home depot like places until we found the right sized sink and then headed back to Argeles. We ate a lunch of leftovers and then processed citizenship paperwork online. The rain began again and so when we finished with the computer I took a nap.

I got up around 5pm, went grocery shopping and then made a light chicken salad with homemade tsatsiki sauce as dressing. We had dinner around 8 and then I drank a glass of red wine outside. Sylve brought out a chair and my father smoked a cigar while we listened to his stories. Around 10 we called it a night and I fell into a deep fulfilling sleep.
